Post-Purchase Checklist: What to Do After Buying Property

Closing the deal is a milestone, not the finish line. A handful of practical tasks in the weeks after transfer save headaches later.

Immediately after transfer

  • Set up DEWA (utilities) in your name
  • Register with the building's owners' association / management company
  • Confirm your title deed details with the Dubai Land Department app

Within the first month

  • Review your building's service charge schedule and due dates
  • Arrange home insurance, especially if you're renting the unit out
  • If renting it out, register the Ejari tenancy contract

Ongoing

Keep your title deed, transfer receipt and NOC documents together — you'll need them again for any future resale, refinance, or visa application tied to the property.
